Why Do Health and Wellness Coaching?
One question I get asked a lot is why do my clients do health and wellness coaching and what is the purpose of it? While each person has individualized needs and goals in health and wellness coaching there are some general answers that are true to almost all clients:
The client wants to take control of their health and wellness - this involves being an active participant, which for many can be very empowering.
The client has short and long term health and wellness goals they want to reach - while everyone’s are different, every client has goals they want to reach.
The client wants to increase their wellness routine - almost everyone has some sort of wellness routine even if it is just brushing their hair and teeth daily. Health and wellness coaching allows a client to explore those routines and get more out of them.
The client wants an accountability partner - this is one of the most positive feedbacks I hear about health coaching. Meeting with a coach on a regular basis is a great way to provide accountability ultimately helping the client to reach their goals.
The client wants to get to know themselves better - coaching helps the client dig deeper into themselves in a guided way. Everyone learns something new about themselves on the journey.
While coaching looks a bit different for all clients, there are some general wants and needs from coaching that are seen over and over again.
