Summer Wellness
For those of us that live where there are seasons, switching up your wellness routine for each season can be a great way to feel festive, keep it fresh, and help our bodies stay in tune with nature. Here are some fun summer additions that can be added to your summer:
Get vitamin D the natural way: Spend some time daily in the sun to get vitamin D the natural way .
Exercise in the water: Exercising in the water can be a great low impact way to add cardio to your routine. If you don’t have a large body of water to do so in, just getting near water and listening to the sound of it can be relaxing.
Take advantage of all the summer crops: Eating whole foods is beneficial any time of the year but it can be easier to do in the summer because it is more readily available. Stop at a roadside stand or hit a farmers market to get fresh healthy fruits, veggies, and herbs to add into your summer nutrition.
Hydrate: Ramping up your hydration routine for summer is a great addition to any plan. Hydration tends to be front of mind while in the sun in the summer months. Grabbing a fun water bottle or adding fresh lemons or cucumbers to your water can help you stay motivated to drink more water and stay hydrated.
Join a league: There are so many fun summer leagues for adults offered only when the weather is nice out. Look for local beach volleyball, kickball, or softball leagues. If organized sports isn’t your style, look up local walking groups or outdoor yoga as a way to stay connected and be active.
Meditate in nature: Meditating all year is beneficial but summer allows for an added benefit of being able to do it outside in the fresh air with the sounds of nature.
